Thailand is known worldwide for its natural beauty and serenity. The country is filled with untouched pockets of paradise, including beaches, hot springs, and landscapes. Over time, more and more of these gems are being discovered as adventurous souls explore Thailand.
Tourists from all over the world visit Thailand in the hopes of experiencing these paradises first-hand. One destination, in particular, is Krabi.
Krabi’s Location
Located in southern Thailand, Krabi is near the Thailand-Malaysia border. It stretches along the Phang Nga Bay, and the majority of it borders land.
There are many things Krabi has to offer, especially to visitors. Along with boasting some of Thailand’s famous beaches, islands populate the sea that can be explored by anyone.
Krabi Hot Springs
Because of its location, Krabi has warm weather all year round. As a result, Krabi’s waters are naturally heated. Krabi is also known for its incredible hot springs located all around the province, that attract visitors by the thousands all year round. Not only do they come to look at the stunning sight, but enjoy the crystal clear and warm waters as well.
Because of the change of tides, the best hot spring to visit can vary. However, one can be sure that they’ll enjoy the springs no matter what by visiting several of Krabi’s famous hot springs—Namtok Ron Khlong Thom, the Emerald Pool, and the Than Bok Khorani National Park.
Namtok Ron Khlong Thom
If you’re looking for one of if not the most popular destination in Krabi, this waterfall hot spring is the place to go. Namtok Ron Khlong Thom offers a beautiful setting where you can enjoy the best of what hot springs have to offer. There is plenty of shade as well, as the area is filled with trees.
Namtok Ron Khlong Thom is unique because of its waterfall. The moment you visit the place, you will realize why the site is so famous among both tourists and locals alike. Many believe that the constant sound and feeling of flowing water offers a therapeutic experience that is undescribable without a visit.
Over many years, the waterfall has shaped the area into individual bath-like structures, all filled with natural spring waters. If you’re looking to visit nature’s jacuzzis, then you should do so early in the morning or late in the evening. Thankfully, the water will stay warm throughout the day. After enjoying your time in the “hot tub,” there is a serene lake nearby where all the water collects and is an excellent spot to cool off.
There are several things you’ll have to keep in mind in regards to this waterfall. The area only opens at 7:00 a.m. and closes at 6:00 p.m. and prices can range between 90 baht to 200 baht. Also, there aren’t any changing rooms nearby, so be sure that you come appropriately dressed.
If you’re not into waterfalls, don’t fret. There are many other things Krabi has in store for you! You only need to do quick research or ask the locals about the best places to visit. We assure you that you’ll have an enjoyable time!
